On March 25th Bolton's Office Supplies proudly celebrates its 140th anniversary, marking more than a century of dedication to supplying quality business products and services.
With six generations of Bolton family ownership, the company continues to evolve. In 2026, Bolton’s will relocate to a purpose-built facility at 87 Charleston Road to expand its B2B operations and better serve businesses across Central Victoria.
Meeting Growing Demand with a State-of-the-Art Facility
In response to increasing demand, the new facility will provide greater efficiency in supplying a broad range of business essentials. Bolton’s partners with organisations of all sizes—from large mining corporations to construction companies and early learning centres—ensuring they have the essential business supplies to operate seamlessly.
Originally founded as Bolton & Sons by Benjamin Bolton and his two eldest sons, William and Arthur, the company’s roots in Bendigo date back to its first location on High Street.
Over the years, Bolton’s has operated from various locations, established on High street, then 56 Williamson Street then 43 Mitchell Street, where it remained for over 100 years. Today, Bolton’s is based at 57 Williamson Street, but in 2026, it will open its new purpose-built premises, continuing to support Central Victorian businesses.
Expanded Offerings to Better Serve Businesses
In addition to its existing range of printing services, office supplies, workwear and office furniture, the new location will allow Bolton’s to further expand into packaging and cleaning supplies. Both retail and wholesale operations will be housed under one roof, streamlining services for businesses.
140 Years: A Legacy of Leadership and Innovation
Director of Bolton’s Office Supplies, David Bolton, has been a pivotal part of the business for over 40 years, working alongside his partner, Rod McCredden (Director & General Manager), and Rod’s children, Brinley and Bailey, for more than 20 years.
Today, David’s children—Alicia, Lewis and Camille—are also part of Bolton’s 40+ person team, continuing the family legacy and marking six generations of Bolton family involvement.
David’s great-grandfather, John Beebe, designed many of Bendigo’s historic buildings. Reflecting on the new location, David said: “I am very proud to be building next to one of the many structures my great-grandfather John Beebe designed. Our new building’s design will complement his architectural legacy.”
The Bolton family’s pioneering spirit has driven innovations such as the loose-leaf ledger and a continually expanding product range that has sustained the business for over a century.
